Week 13
We've had lots of fog recently here on the East coast and I've not taken advantage of it before today. I decided early on yesterday that if it was foggy when I woke up this morning I'd jump in the car and go hunting for a good shot.
I went out towards Caistor in the Lincolnshire Wolds to try and see if the tops of he hills were clear, but the fog ended at the first hill and I found nothing but bright sunshine beyond.
So on the way home to watch the F1 GP I spotted an avenue of trees at the side of the road. Took a bit of a walk to see how the scenery changed as I went and was rewarded with this shot. Unfortunately the trees aren't evenly spaced, but the size of the tree on the left helps to balance the image out.
The final edit of this image was a happy accident, as whilst placing with curves I accidentally dragged the Darks right down. The foreground detail vanished and left me with this eerie looking landscape which I immediately loved. You can just see the green return in the distance, but I love how dark and moody the shot has become and the contrast on the trees is great.

I would love this on a canvas for my bedroom. Great ambience.
